BMW PGA Championship Tip: Andrew Johnston

Finished T12-2-T12 and comfortable back on the European Tour. Has two top-25s finishes in three starts at Wentworth and starting to recapture the form of his breakout season.

Andrew Johnston endured a frustrating 2017, a year in which he slipped down the world rankings but I admire his efforts nonetheless. Thanks to a couple of good finishes during the Web.com Tour Final Series, Johnston tried to crack the PGA Tour. Unfortunately, his status meant he didn’t get nearly as many starts as hoped and he simply couldn’t manage playing in the US and Europe.

The Englishman is back plying his trade on the European Tour and his results are improving as a result. In his last three starts he’s finished T12-2-T12 and another win looks imminent.

The 29-year-old has gone MC-7-21 at Wentworth and it should be a course that suits him. Currently ranked second on tour in strokes gained tee-to-green he won’t have trouble finding GIRs, he just needs the putter to heat up. At 50/1 he looks a cracking bet with most bookmakers paying extra places including Sky Bet going top-8 at 1/5 odds.
