Donaldson Made In China
Jamie Donaldson was in the final group last year before fading on Sunday and finishing T4. Has shot two 62s at the course.
The European Tour Final Series continues this week in China with the BMW Masters. If you substitute Justin Rose for Rory McIlroy then the field is similar to the one in Turkey and I’m sticking with the same picks.
Back on the European Tour, Jamie Donaldson is in his comfort zone and up against players he knows he can beat.
The Welshman has won at least once on tour in each of the last three years and he won’t want to draw a blank in 2015. Thankfully he’s starting to hit form with three top-15 finishes in his last four starts.
In last year’s renewal of the BMW Masters he played in the final group on Sunday with Alexander Levy. Unfortunately, they dragged each other down and a final round 75 meant Donaldson finished T4 and missed the play-off by a stroke.
The good news is he can play the course. He shot a 62 in round three last year and opened with the same score in 2012.
He’s in the sort of form to go low again and is a great each-way bet at 40/1 (William Hill).
