BMW Pro-Am Tips: Lanto Griffin

BMW Pro-Am Tips: Lanto Griffin

Tasted success on the LatinoAmerica Tour and went bogey-free to win a US Open Local Qualifier last week.

Last year we almost landed a touch with 300/1 shot Albin Choi finishing T8 and the Pro-Am format lends itself to a surprise winner. The course is set-up in a friendly manner to make it accessible for amateurs and that means the pros should take it apart.

Lanto Griffin arrives at the event with precious little form to his name, he is 3/7 in cuts made with a best finish of T55. However, last week he claimed medallist honours at US Open Local Qualifying shooting a bogey-free 5-under-par 65 at Farmington Country Club.

We also shouldn’t forget that the 28-year-old tasted success on the LatinoAmerica Tour winning the Roberto De Vicenzo Punta del Este Open in 2015. Griffin is better than odds of 400/1 imply and he is well worth the risk this week.
