BMW Championship Tip: Patrick Reed

BMW Championship Tip: Patrick Reed

Putting is back to its best and has finished T2-T20-T6 on his last three starts, which includes a final round collapse at the Northern Trust.

It’s difficult to find much value as the fields narrow during the playoffs but outside of the top half-dozen I like the chances of Patrick Reed. This season he’s been steady rather than spectacular, making 23/27 cuts but registering only four top-10s.

Much of Reed’s focus has been on improving his putting and getting back to basics has yielded improvements, he is currently fifth on tour for strokes gained. Tee-to-green there are inconsistencies but in the last month there have been signs of it coming together.

His last three starts have produced finishes of 2-20-6 but he was third heading into the final round of the Northern Trust and suffered through pressing too hard and tumbled down the leaderboard. But for that final round we’d have a player on a streak of three consecutive top-10s and having gained stroke son the field putting in every event since the Greenbrier he is a good bet at 30/1 with Betfred.
