Reno-Tahoe Open Tips: Tag Ridings

Made the cut five times in seven visits, with a best finish of seventh. His big hitting is an advantage in this format.

Tag Ridings might be a journeyman pro but the honours board at the Reno-Tahoe Open isn’t exactly filled with household names, therefore it’s worth looking for an outsider.

Ridings has bounced between the PGA Tour and Web.com tour in recent years, and sat 137th in the FedEx Cup standings he might be making a return to Q-School unless banking some big cheques.

The motivation to do well at the Reno-Tahoe Open is obvious but his form isn’t too bad either. Four starts back he finished T9 at the Greenbrier Classic where he ranked T6 for birdies.

The 38-year-old also has some course form to his name. He’s made the cut in the last four Reno-Tahoe Opens and finished 7th in 2005.

The change in format could also work in his favour, he’s an aggressive golfer and a big hitter of the ball. Ranked 16th on tour for driving distance he could make some big points and is a decent each-way bet at 110/1 with Bet365.
