Barracuda Championship: Chase Seiffert
Has broken 70 five times in eight rounds since the restart and his fourth place at the Workday already seems forgotten. Has experience of this format with a T65 finish in 2017.
The Barracuda Championship retains it’s Modified Stableford scoring system but there is a change in venue as the tournament moves to Tahoe Mountain Club’s Old Greenwood course. The different format slightly confuses issues but i’m still inclined to pick golfers playing well and/or underrated in the market.
Two starts back Chase Seiffert was finishing solo fourth at the Workday Charity Open in a much stronger field but that already seems forgotten. He missed the cut last week at the 3M Open but that was mainly due to a cold putter in round 2.
In truth that has been the problem for Seiffert, a couple of bad rounds on the greens have seen him fail to make the weekend but his overall profile in encouraging. Since the restart he’s fired rounds of 66-75-68-69-70-67-69-74.
As an added bonus he’s played this event before, finishing T65 as a relatively unknown golfer in 2017. As mentioned previously he enjoyed a tremendous campaign on the Korn Ferry Tour last season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him land one of these alternate events.
