Thrill Of The Chase

Made last six cuts on PGA Tour and must not forget he was one of best players on Korn Ferry tour. Overpriced on ability he showed last season when third in all-around ranking.

I’ll confess the Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of my least favourite events on the PGA Tour. It’s hard to pick a thread from past winners and the coverage is borderline unwatchable. That hasn’t proven a problem in the past as i’ve rarely had a betting interest come Sunday evening! Taking that all into account i’m keeping it simple and backing a player overpriced on his talent.

Chase Seiffert was one of the standout players on the Korn Ferry Tour last season; he finished third in the all-around rankings and has shown signs that he can manage the step up in grade to the PGA Tour. He’s made his last six cuts with two top-25 finishes during that period; he was also in the mix for the American Express going into the final round so he has tasted the pressure at this higher level.

Strong through the bag, Seiffert has the type of game that should go well on most PGA Tour courses and although he has no professional experience of the Pebble Beach links we’ve seen some odd winners of this event.

Back him at 300/1 with Betfair and get 8 places at 1/5 odds.
