Pebble Beach Tip: Wyndham Clark

Excellent for 63-holes at Torrey Pines where he was on the fringes of a top-10. Massive hitter and despite being one of the more exciting rookies he is still underrated.

Ultimately Wyndham Clark only finished T35 at the Farmers Insurance Open but he was on the fringes of the top-10 before a back-9 collapse on Sunday and that is understandable of a tour rookie. All things considered it was a fine performance, on a difficult course, amongst an elite field.

That is now 6/8 cuts made for the 25-year-old and he looks one of the most promising of the Web.com graduates. A massive hitter, he is 9th in driving distance, he can also putt and that is often the perfect combination on the PGA Tour.

The weakness in his game is his approach play and that might be an issue with the small targets of Pebble Beach. However, the course has a favourable set-up given the Pro-Am element of the tournament and scoring is generally low.

There have been some surprise winners over the years and I doubt we will be getting silly prices on Wyndham Clark for much longer, so it is time to cash in.
