Arnold Palmer Invitational Tips: Webb Simpson
Second on tour for adjusted scoring average and a big price for a player who averages a win every 43 starts.
Webb Simpson is a player I’ve got wrong in the past; every time I back him he plays poorly but at 60/1 we are getting the right price.
Simpson has 4 tour wins to his name, including a major, in just 172 starts. That strike rate makes him a 42/1 chance and we are getting almost 50% more this week if he wins.
It is not like the 29-year-old has been struggling recently. So far this year he’s finished T13-T7-MC-T7 and he is currently ranked second on tour for adjusted scoring average.
His record at Bay Hill is moderate, with a T11 in 2009 his best finish but there’s enough in his game to suggest he can contend at 60/1 (Betfred).
