Air Capital Classic Tips: Byron Smith
Hasn’t missed a cut this season and yet to finish lower than T46. Record at Crestview is T54-T28.
Byron Smith has a journeyman profile to his career, he’s played almost every tour available in the USA but he knows where the finishing line is and could score again.
In his last full season (2014) on the Web.com Tour he won the Rex Hospital Open and he’s recaptured that form again. He is yet to miss a cut in eight starts this season and has finished no worse than T46.
That is a serious run of form and sees him sit 17th in the actual scoring average. There are no glaring weakness to his game, he drives it relatively long and straight and can putt.
Smith has previous experience of playing Crestview Country Club having finished T54-T28 in his last two appearances at the Air Capital Classic. His consistency will turn into a big finish soon and he is a good bet at 55/1 (Bet365).
