Africa Open Tips: Gregory Bourdy
Runner-up in 2013 and finished T20 last year. In-form with two top-5s already this season.
The young guns like Andy Sullivan and Byeong Hun An feature prominently in the betting for the Africa Open but I think the value lies with Gregory Bourdy.
The Frenchman is a four-time European Tour winner and has the pedigree to win an event like the Africa Open.
He has come close on several occasions; a runner-up in 2013, he also butchered a good start last year on the way to a T20 finish.
The 32-year-old has started the season strongly with finishes of T37-T5-T13-T5-MC and I wouldn’t be put off by a missed cut last week. He was under-par for two rounds and missed the cut by one stroke.
At 28/1 (Bet365) he is a good each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
