Abu Dhabi Championship: Romain Langasque
After a quiet summer found his form at the back-end of 2021 and could be a big player in the new season. Move to Yas Links plays to his strengths: elite driver and good in the wind.
Romain Langasque was very quiet during the peak of summer but the talented Frenchman picked up again towards the end of the year and hopefully he can kick-on in 2022. His win at the Wales Open looked like his big breakthrough and although it didn’t materialise his qualities still remain.
An excellent driver of the ball, putting is still a weakness but the move to Yas Links is in his favour. For starters the scoring won’t be as low Abu Dhabi Golf Club, it is also links-like, on the coast and the wind could be a big factor this week. None of this is an issue for Langasque and the event could play to his strengths.
This is a strong field for a DP World Tour event but i’d have him more around the 66/1 mark and therefore we should avail ourselves of the 150/1 with Betfred paying 7 places at 1/5 odds.
