X Factor: Bottom Two Prediction

Simon Cowell has managed to keep all his acts safe so far but there could be a surprise in the sing-off tonight.

Having speculated that running order is having a bearing on voting patterns on the X Factor, this could be a week when we see a surprise candidate in the bottom two.

We have already noted that none of the last four acts to perform on any X Factor show to date this year have ended up in a sing-off. This suggests that several of tonight’s favourites to be in the bottom two may live to fight another day. Only the Young (9/2 Betfred), Stereo Kicks and Stevi Richie (both 7/2 Ladbrokes) finished Saturday night in that order.

So if they prove to be safe, who might end up in a sing-off? Having already deemed Lola in trouble, it’s possible she could be joined in the bottom two by Jay James at best odds of 6/1 (WilliamHill).

The former Navy man did a decent enough rendition of ‘Mad World’ but he was right in that dangerous middle part of a long night, coming out fifth in the running order. He also swiftly got eclipsed by Italian Andrea appearing on stage, absurdly but memorably, painted gold.

Jay might be in bottom two contention but the judges will surely save him if he is there at this stage. We are therefore better off taking him at 14/1 with Skybet in that particular market for greater value.
