Brazilian GP Tips: Valtteri Bottas

Finished in the points last Sunday on merit and Williams have sprung the odds surprise at Interlagos in recent years.

It has been a miserable year for Williams but it might yet finish on a high. Valtteri Bottas finished eighth in Texas, the first points of his career and the highest position the team have managed all year.

Four points might seem like crumbs at this stage of the season but the lap times show they were merited. Bottas was the third-fastest on the hard tyre and if he’d managed to run slightly longer on the medium compound a top-6 finish would have been within reach.

Interlagos is a circuit where Williams have gone well in the recent past; Pastor Maldonado was sixth on the grid last year and Nico Hulkenburg took pole in 2010. If Bottas can continue last week’s form then a points finish isn’t out of the question at 9/4 (Bet365).
