Russia v South Korea Tip: Capello Loves Clean Sheets

Nobody had worse preparations for this tournament than Korea and they look likely to get outclassed, even in Group H.

The last two teams to make an appearance in Brazil 2014 both arrive with dreams of making it to the knockout phases. However, those aspirations only look realistic for one of the sides.

Russia qualified by finishing ahead of Portugal and only conceded five times in 10 matches. When you consider that two of those goals were last minute consolation efforts when the job was already done, their defensive credentials look rock solid.

South Korea made it here in less impressive circumstances. They lost home and away to Iran who nobody is backing for success in this tournament, and also tasted defeat in Lebanon. It was enough to prompt coach Choi Kang-hee to resign.

But the reign of Hong Myung-Bo has hardly seen an upturn in fortunes. The Taeguk Warriors have lost four of their last five fixtures, including 4-0 to Mexico and 4-0 to Ghana just a week ago.

Fabio Capello has built a side in his classic no-nonsense image and with plenty of experience. I fully expect Russia to win this one to nil at best odds of 2/1 with Betfred.
