Nigeria v Bosnia Tip: Dragons Find Their Fire

Bosnia acquitted themselves superbly against Argentina and they should turn class into points on Saturday.

Bosnia played better than many anticipated despite losing 2-1 to Argentina, while Nigeria underperformed in their goalless draw against Iran. It is therefore pleasing that we can still pick up the Europeans at virtually evens money (19/20 Coral) to win here.

Safet Susic’s men have done nothing to suggest they aren’t comfortably the second best team in Group F. They had more total shots and more efforts on target than Argentina and were victims of bad luck after a second minute own goal which they could do little about.

The fine performance should have come as little to surprise to those who witnessed Bosnia warm up for the World Cup with victories over the Ivory Coast and Mexico - two sides who have already won in this competition. The Dragons also went through qualification in emphatic style, led by their dynamic front pairing of Dzeko and Ibisevic.

The same could not be said of Nigeria who qualified having found the net fewer times (11) than any other entrant. The Super Eagles failed to live up to their nickname with an insipid display against Iran and coach Stephen Keshi has been receiving criticism for a while.

The disapproving voices may become deafening if this match goes as we anticipate.
