24th Jun 2014 | World Cup

Italy v Uruguay: Under 2.5 goals.

A draw will be good enough for Italy so expect the Azzuri to keep things tight.

Italy head into their final group game against Uruguay knowing a draw is good enough to see them progress to the knock-out stages. Despite Cesare Prandelli’s attacking outlook it’s easy to see the Italians returning to type.

The Azzuri’s strength remains in defence, they are heavily influenced by Juventus players who won Serie A by conceding a mere 23 goals in 28 matches.

Uruguay need to win the game but apart from two opportunist strikes by Luis Suarez, the South Americans have carried very little threat during the World Cup. Of their five shots on target (lowest in Group D), three have resulted in goals and this is an unsustainable conversion rate.

Expect Uruguay to push but Italy to hold firm. It should be a tight and tense affair with under 2.5 goals attractive at 4/5 Skybet.
