Group H Qualifier Tip: Algeria

The Desert Foxes have won four in a row heading into the finals and are underestimated mainly because they are an unknown quantity.

Group H looks like another open section and we have seen enough encouragement to back outsiders Algeria to qualify for the next round at best odds of 9/2 with Bet365.

Flamboyant coach Vahid Halilhodzic described the 2-1 victory over Romania on Wednesday night as “the best match since I arrived.” He added that his Arab side have had the “best preparations possible.”

That assessment is hard to argue with when you consider that the Desert Foxes have only lost one of their last 13 fixtures. The second leg success over Burkina Faso (1-0) to qualify has been followed by three further consecutive victories in 2014 against Slovenia (2-0), Armenia (3-1) and Romania, which completed the World Cup warm-ups.

Algeria possess creativity through Sofiane Feghouli, have strikers who score goals at international level in Islam Slimani and El Arabi Soudani, while Spurs’ teenager Nabil Bentaleb is blossoming by the match.

The group has potential for an upset because Russia may lack an attacking spark while South Korea are hit and miss. Who even knows if Belgium will handle the pressure of expectation they are so unaccustomed to. Algeria could ruffle a few feathers and are well worth a flutter at a pretty long price.
