Costa Rica v England: Over 2.5 Goals

The final game pitches together the two most shot happy teams in the group.

The game between Costa Rica and England has very little significance from a supporter perspective but it’s a match up between arguably the best two teams in Group D.

That might seem a very odd statement considering Roy Hodgson’s men have zero points but his team have been slightly unfortunate.

Costa Rica and England have registered the most total shots and shots on target in the Group and have allowed fewer total shots and shots on target than both Italy and Uruguay.

Partly this might have been down to England chasing the game in both their fixtures but in a short sprint to the knock-out rounds teams don’t always get what they deserve.

Costa Rica will be keen to win the group thus avoiding a probable encounter with Colombia whilst the England team will want to finish on a high. It could be an open game and over 2.5 goals at 10/11 (William Hill) looks a sound bet.
