Belgium v Algeria Tip: Match Winner & Both Teams To Score

Belgium are the hot favourites for Group H and in terms of individual quality a squad which includes the likes of Courtois, Kompany, Hazard and Lukaku really should be. They qualified in style, at one point winning seven matches on the spin, so the real challenge is finding an angle where we can back them to triumph at a decent price.

The solution for this opening match is to back them to concede. The bookies think they are more likely to win to nil (6/4 Betfred) but I would favour the 3/1 (Boylesports) available on Marc Wilmots’ boys winning but with both teams to score.

Algeria look capable of causing the other teams in the group (Russia and South Korea) some real problems even if this fixture may be slightly too much for them. But that doesn’t mean the Desert Foxes can’t find the net on Tuesday. They have won four fixtures on the bounce and have only lost once in 13 outings.

Belgium let a goal in against lowly Luxembourg at the end of May and conceded three at home to Japan last November. The confident Algerian’s will surely make them work for the points here.
