United Finally Progressing?

The Red Devils' success at the Etihad felt like a defining moment but they must now find consistency.

This looks like a tough fixture to call given the inconsistency of both sides but I just got a sense that United finally looked dynamic in the recent Manchester derby win.

The understanding between Rashford and Martial is really developing and Van Gaal already has comfortably the best home defence in the Premier League - just seven goals conceded in 14 league matches.

That backbone will be tested against an Everton side who continuously perform better on the road but United have the best home record against top half sides (W5 D2 L1).

While the Toffees aren’t currently top half, they have three games in hand on some, and are regarded as being in a false position by most, currently down in 12th. This will feel like a big side is visiting to the Old Trafford faithful, and this is when United have been playing at their best.

The Red Devils are unbeaten since January in front of their own fans in all competitions (W4 D2) and will be bouyed further by that victory at the Etihad.

The Toffees won’t roll over like they did at Goodison (3-0); instead a United victory by one goal looks likely at best odds of 13/5.
