Turf Moor Often Means Less

The Clarets beat Man City 1-0 in their last home game. A single goal has decided many fixtures on this ground in 2014-15.

The bookies have priced up the goal markets with scant regard for what usually happens at Turf Moor. WilliamHill offer 10/3 on there being under 1.5 goals in the match and that looks like cracking value.

So far in 2014-15, seven of Burnley’s 15 home games have produced one goal or fewer so arguably the odds shouldn’t be much longer than evens. Furthermore, there haven’t been more than two goals in any of the Clarets’ last five outings home or away.

The oddsmakers expect Tottenham to make this a lively clash, as they generally do admittedly, but Burnley’s recent low scoring fixtures have included clashes with Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

If those teams couldn’t dominate Sean Dyche’s men then I see no reason why Spurs will run riot.
