Toffees Won't Come Unstuck Again

Everton have been getting their act together for weeks now and plucky Leicester will probably come up just short again.

Sunday should be the day when Everton finally put any lingering relegation fears to bed once and for all.

The 4-1 victory over Young Boys on Thursday will have raised morale and Roberto Martinez crucially has options to freshen things up here. Leighton Baines is back in the fold after his knee injury while new signing Aaron Lennon could play having been ineligible for the Europa League clash.

Leicester have a very poor away record (W2 D1 L10) but have remained competitive for the most part. In the end they were unlucky to be beaten 2-1 at Arsenal recently and they won the second half at Old Trafford, albeit still losing 3-1.

This match will therefore be fiercely competitive and we can anticipate a likely scoreline based on recent Everton league results.

Starting with the most recent:

Chelsea 1-0 Everton
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Palace 0-1 Everton
Everton 0-0 West Brom
Everton 1-1 Man City

It’s all very binary and you’d have to conclude that the Toffees’ defence has held up well in a tough run of fixtures. They’ve found it tougher down the other end but against weaker opposition they can nick this one. Everton are a best price 13/2 to win 1-0 with WilliamHill who will give us our money back if it ends 0-0 instead.
