Time To Be A Gent

The Belgians are underestimated despite a recent win over Valencia and having always competed in Group H.

In a similar way to BATE, Gent are undervalued due to their lack of Champions League pedigree, again incorrectly. They are 9/2 to make it back to back wins against hosts with just one point from four games.

When Gent made their Champions League bow against Lyon back in September, it was an extraordinary match. The Belgians somehow earned a draw with only nine men and despite conceding a late penalty which was saved. That sort of thing will have a psychological impact on both teams.

Gent have been competitive in every match to date in Group H and gave themselves some hope of progressing by beating Valencia 1-0 last time out.

For the French side, a draw with nine-men debutants was actually as good as it got. Lyon have lost three in a row since and realistically have little prospect of anything better than a Europa League consolation spot.
