The Saturday Acca

We're backing Gus Poyet to celebrate a first league win of the season in our most daring selection of this 4-team accumulator.

This week we’re taking two teams riding high, the defending Premier League champions and a team overdue a win, to deliver an accumulator at best odds of 11/1* with BetVictor.

Southampton (9/20) to win at home to QPR:

The Saints are the success story of the top flight so far having sold a plethora of top players in the summer, and lost their manager, only to sit second in the table. Ronald Koeman’s boys were very unlucky to lose their opening fixture at Anfield but have gone on a 6-match unbeaten run since across all competitions, winning the last 5. QPR might be the worst side in the division at this point, emphasised by 4-0 hammerings to Spurs and United.

Man City (4/7) to win at Hull:

The champions will be disappointed with their points tally (8) but they have faced Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea already, and not lost to any of them. The 7-0 hammering of Wednesday in midweek will have raised morale, and they won this fixture 2-0 in March with only 10 men. Hull have only taken the spoils in 1 of their last 10 league outings dating back to last season.

Sunderland (2/1) to win at home to Swansea:

Based on the league table this is a gamble, but Sunderland have been very competitive in every league match in 2014-15, drawing 4 out of 5. Connor Wickham and Steven Fletcher should start to combine to good effect and see the Black Cats rediscover the form which saw them finish last term with victories over the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd. Swansea have now lost two league games in a row and have actually had the second fewest shots in the top flight.

Norwich (8/11) to win at Blackpool:

The Tangerines have not won in nine matches across all competitions this season (D2 L7) and you wouldn’t expect that sequence to end against high-flying Norwich. The Canaries have won their last three league games on the road, and in some style, and are bolstered by the recent returns of Jonny Howson and striker Gary Hooper.

*Exact accumulator odds are 10.82/1
