The Saturday Acca

We've identified 4 home teams who are bigger prices than you might expect given their starts to the season.

Last week’s four team acca was only let down by Stoke’s surprise home defeat to Villa after we correctly predicted three out of three wins in the Championship. This week we’ll start our analysis in the second tier and hope the top flight form holds up to land a 17/1* shot with BetVictor.

Millwall 11/10 to win at home to Rotherham:

Perhaps the Championship’s surprise package to date, Millwall are joint-top of the table after victories over Leeds and Fulham and a draw with Wednesday. Now back at the Den, Ian Holloway’s boys should keep the run going against newcomers to the division who have lost two of their first three, scoring only once in the process.

Nott’m Forest 20/21 to win at home to Reading:

Stuart Pearce has enjoyed an unbeaten start to managerial life at the City Ground which has seen Forest soar to the top of the table. The midweek 2-1 victory at Bournemouth owed everything to defensive resilience but the three points will only breed confidence. The Royals can play, but the 2-1 home loss to Huddersfield on Tuesday will have bumped them out of their stride.

Southampton 3/4 to win at home to West Brom:

If ever a defeat lifted morale it was Southampton’s courageous 2-1 reverse at Anfield on the opening weekend. The Saints were the better team for long periods, the new signings impressed, and Morgan Schneiderlin showed he can play well even when unsettled. WBA didn’t lose, but they were gifted a soft penalty and still managed to throw away a winning position late on which suggests nothing has really changed at the Hawthorns.

Crystal Palace 6/4 to win at home to West Ham:

Everyone looking from the outside thinks Palace are in disarray but the performance at the Emirates suggests that their defensive qualities remain. It’s easy to forget that the Eagles’ improvement last term actually began under current caretaker Keith Millen. The Hammers lost home and away to their London rivals in 2013-14 and the same questions are being asked of Sam Allardyce now. Primarily, who will score the goals? It’s a big ask for Enner Valencia to make an immediate impact.

*The exact odds for the acca are 16.92/1 at time of writing, with these market-leading odds available with BetVictor.
