The Off-Form Formula
Villa and Spurs are on poor form. The smart money suggests they won't both come good on the same day.
With Villa and Spurs both in wretched form it feels like a gamble worth avoiding backing either team to win on Sunday.
Recent history in this fixture suggests the Londoners are by far the more likely, but after one win in seven league outings, they are too short to beat anyone away from home at best odds of 21/20 (WilliamHill).
Equally, even 16/5 (BetVictor) is hard to get excited about for Villa given that they have just gone five losing matches in a row, without scoring in any of them, for the first time in their history.
Instead, the preferable bet looks like evens money (Paddy Power) on ‘Both Teams To Score - No’ . In 10 games across all competitions this season, Villa fans have only seen both sides find the net on one occasion - a 2-1 victory over Hull back in August. We can therefore presume this is a very likely outcome again.
