Stoke Target Record-Breaking Success

The Potters can equal their joint best Premier League points tally with victory over inconsistent Spurs.

This game features two teams with seemingly little at stake but Stoke have club records on their mind. The Potters are desperate for a top-half finish and Peter Crouch sums up their ambitions: “ninth is a possibility and even eighth is within our reach too if we can take advantage of the three games we have coming up.”

Mark Hughes’s boys are flying at the Britannia Stadium and go hunting a fifth consecutive home victory on Saturday. Meanwhile Tottenham seem destined to finish an uninspiring sixth no matter what, and Tim Sherwood has a job on his hands, well, keeping a job on his hands.

Spurs can’t stop capitulating away from White Hart Lane having gone six away games without success in all competitions (D2 L4). The concession of 13 goals in the last four tells its own story.

Given all this, Stoke to win at best odds of 9/4 (BetVictor) is a veritable bargain.
