A Liverpool legend says goodbye to Anfield but sentiment has slightly affected the prices here.

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from Steven Gerrard’s long farewell from Liverpool it’s that fairytale endings don’t happen too often in football.

The former England captain had that slip against Chelsea, was sent off against Man Utd, then disappeared in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Villa. Can we really expect it to all going swimmingly on his final Anfield appearance?

There is a lot of sentimental money bound for this match and as cold-hearted punters we should therefore go the other way.

Palace won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Selhurst Park and after seven away wins in their last nine across all competitions they are too long here at 7/1 (Bet365).
