Stadium of Light Relief
These sides have drawn their last two meetings in the north-east and both managers would probably settle for a point after last weekend.
Norwich still have quite a few of the players who earned draws at the Stadium of Light in 2013-14 and indeed 2012-13 and that will stand them in good stead.
Indeed, for a newly promoted side who lost at home on the opening day of the season, they could scarcely have more confidence. The Canaries played well against Palace and were denied a legitimate goal for 2-2 and arguably a penalty.
Furthermore, they will be well aware that Sunderland were dreadful. It’s tempting to pick the away win at 19/10 (Bet365), but the percentage play is to take the longest price option of the draw - a 23/10 shot.
Dick Advocaat will surely get a response out of the Black Cats. The Dutchman did well to steer the club to safety with a run of one loss in seven near the end of last season.
A point apiece would represent progress for both sides after last weekend and is therefore all the more likely to happen.
