Slovenians No Mugs

The bookies have priced this one as if Chelsea were playing a non-league team.

The bookies are expecting a romp for the English league leaders on Tuesday night with Maribor rated as long as 25/1 (Betfair) to win at Stamford Bridge.

The truth is that an upset is of course hugely unlikely but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t back the underdogs in some form or other. With that in mind we recommend delving into the Asian handicap market and backing the visitors +2.25 goals at a best price of 39/40 with Bet365.

This wager means that Chelsea would need to emerge victorious by at least 3 goals to deny us. There is compelling evidence to suggest this won’t happen. Firstly, the Slovenians are unbeaten so far in the Champions League so far having drawn 1-1 with both Sporting Lisbon and Schalke.

The Londoners themselves only drew with the Germans and beat the Portuguese by a single goal. This tells us that Group G is very competitive and Maribor don’t deserve to be written off as whipping boys.

Given that Jose Mourinho will be happy with any form of win and that Diego Costa will be absent, we should back against the thrashing at close to evens money.
