Reds Out For Revenge

Last season Chelsea cost Liverpool the title at Anfield and since the sides have gone in opposite directions. But the Reds have been written off a little too much.

Last week we cashed in by backing the champions to win the Manchester derby knowing that Paddy Power would refund the bet if the match ended as a draw. This week the Irish firm are offering the same terms, but this time on the Liverpool-Chelsea match.

I would advise backing the hosts again, even if this time they aren’t the favourites, at 11/5. Although Chelsea are unbeaten and the Reds have so far struggled by last season’s standards, the wider context suggests the hosts are a great price at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers rested several of his key men in midweek, somewhat controversially, and still received criticism for doing so despite his side battling gamely to a commendable 1-0 loss in the Bernabeu.

This seemed rather unfair but I’m backing Rodgers to have the last laugh. The Mersyesiders have still only lost twice at home in the league since last September and are therefore underestimated at an underdog price.

*Money back if the game ends as a draw. Paddy Power are offering money back as a free bet up to £50 on losing bets in the winner market if the match ends level.
