Wenger Ready To Show His Hand
If you take out the start of the season then the Gunners look a cut above their title rivals.
Monday night is being billed at a title showdown between the sides expected to be left standing when Leicester’s brave bid finally derails.
On paper it looks too close to call but actually over the past 10 games, Arsenal have been superior at both ends of the park and should be backed at 29/20 with William Hill.
Last 10 games:
Arsenal: W7 D2 L1 F24 A8 Pts 23
Man City: W5 D2 L3 F20 A15 Pts 17
The contrast may not look stark but it’s that goals against column we should really be interested in. City have conceded nearly twice as many goals over this 10-match period and generally look all over the place without Vincent Kompany.
Down the other end, over the season as a whole, Arsenal consistently produce more shots from inside the penalty area (11.9 per game) than City (10.1). These high value shot situations are very likely to result in more goals for the Gunners come May.
So defensively and offensively the Londoners have the edge and we should expect them to establish themselves as outright favourites with victory in this crucial clash.
