Week Of Hell Ends In Hull?

Manchester City have been been knocked out of two cups this week and a further defeat at the KC Stadium would leave their title hopes hanging by a thread.

With Manchester City eliminated from two Cup competitions in the space of three days, this trip to Hull takes on paramount importance for Manuel Pellegrini.

Meanwhile, the hosts are in fine fettle having reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup while also edging clear of the relegation scrap in recent weeks. Hull have not lost any of their last seven at home to the Citizens and it’s tempting to back that run to continue.

However, needs must for the 2011-12 champions and one would expect a narrow away win when all said and done. But that doesn’t mean Steve Bruce’s boys won’t have their moments and Nikica Jelavic looks like a steal at best odds of 7/2 (Betfred) to score anytime.

The former Everton striker has found the net three times in seven outings for his new club and has had a couple of weeks off having been cup-tied. So the 28-year-old will be champing at the bit and, having averaged 4.9 shots per game for Hull, has to be fancied at such a big price.
