Wandering Why The Long Odds
United may have started their season in style at Old Trafford, but the result was misleading and, besides, Wolves have dominated this fixture in 2019.
Wolves won this fixture in the FA Cup as recently as March and then proved it wasn’t a fluke by repeating the trick in the April Premier League clash. At best odds of 23/10 with BetVictor, they can make it a hat-trick in the space of 6 months.
Big club aficionados will say that times have changed with Man Utd beating Chelsea 4-0 on the opening weekend of this season but we know Solskjaer’s tenure so far has been defined as a false dawn.
The Red Devils have plenty to prove yet, not least away where they are winless in 4 going back to last season. Wolves are unbeaten in 8 at Molineux and were consistently at their best against the top teams last term. We have to back that trend to continue until the evidence suggests otherwise.
