Villains Can Rob Cardiff Of The Points

Cardiff had the stuffing knocked out of them by Welsh rivals Swansea at the weekend. Villa also lost but they travel well.

The inconsistency of these two sides is infuriating for their managers and fans alike, but also of course, for the punters. It’s hard to know what you’re going to get from one day to the next with Cardiff and Villa. However, that said, I think Paul Lambert’s boys will take the spoils here at best odds of 21/10 with Boylesports.

The Welsh club have produced a couple of good FA Cup displays under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and also beat Norwich in their last home outing to lift spirits. But the 3-0 defeat to arch-rivals Swansea on Saturday will have taken the wind out of their sales and I can’t see them bouncing back swiftly here.

Villa actually perform better on the road where they have taken 16 of their 27 points from one game fewer. The Claret and Blues have already won at Arsenal, Norwich, Southampton and Sunderland in 2013-14 and recently led for long periods at Anfield and Goodison Park.

I think Lambert knows how to get a positive reaction after a disappointment, as Saturday’s home loss to West Ham certainly was. The consequence should be three points for the Villains at the Cardiff City Stadium.
