Van Still The Man

The Premier League's leading goalscorer for the past two seasons has fired against his former club three times in a row.

It’s hard to know whether Arsenal or Manchester United will bounce back best from their respective weekend disappointments, so our best bet is to side with the ever-dependable Robin Van Persie.

It would be easy to miss, but while the Red Devils have faltered spectacularly in 2013-14, their talisman remains just as potent as ever. The Dutch superstar has scored 10 league goals in just 14 appearances having been restricted by injury problems, and that total includes three in his last three outings.

Van Persie scored the only goal when United met his former club Arsenal back in November and he also found the net home and away against the Gunners last season. At 5/1 with PaddyPower, he is clearly the best bet in the first goalscorer market on Wednesday. And we get our money back if the 30-year-old scores last instead.

*If Robin van Persie scores last, PaddyPower refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match.
