Up The Swanny

Swansea have only lost one of 17 matches against sides in the bottom half this season. They somehow find themselves as significant underdogs here.

A few weeks ago I was somewhat bemused that every single pundit seemed to be predicting an Aston Villa win against Swansea, simply because of a mini-revival for the Midlanders under Tim Sherwood. Sure enough, Swansea surprised most by winning 1-0 at Villa Park.

On Saturday it’s a similar story. Leicester are on a roll after back-to-back victories and, with home advantage, find themselves at nothing longer than 6/5 (Betfred) to take a further three points in their survival bid.

But how on earth can the Welsh club be 11/4 shots? Garry Monk’s boys are on good form themselves having taken seven points from their last three outings. More pertinently, they are 22 points better than their upcoming hosts in the table.

Swansea have a superb record against bottom half sides this season (W9 D7 L1) while the Foxes have only won two league games at the KC Stadium since September. The odds must be wrong here.
