Turn On, Toon In, Ole Out?

The Man Utd nightmare has had a fortnight off but this could bring it back with a jolt. There will be an expectation of stopping the rot but this fixture has been kind to the hosts in recent times and Steve Bruce has maintained the Rafa ability to win ugly.

Manchester United are actually somewhat fortunate to be trotting out with any points on the board having lost twice (badly) and mugged Brighton in their other league outing so far.

Given that Solskjaer hasn’t even had most of his players around him due to the international break it’s hard to say confidently that the Red Devils are ready to bounce back on Saturday. Until we actually see evidence of a revival, I’ll take best odds of 4/1 with BetVictor on a Newcastle home win all day long.

It’s not that the Magpies have looked too great themselves, but they have decent points on the board having found a way to pick up results quite routinely under Steve Bruce. Indeed, they actually looked decent in the 3-1 victory over Burnley last time out.

The Toon have won two of their last three home games against the other United and now they have Callum Wilson looking adept at snapping up the few chances he gets. There’s the prospect of more pain for Ole, before it either gets better, or he departs.
