23rd Dec 2017 | Premier League

Town Can Envelop City

Huddersfield are unbeaten at home to sides outside the top seven, beating Newcastle, West Brom, Brighton and even Man Utd on their own patch. The Potters are a defensive shambles.

Huddersfield would probably be getting more recognition if it wasn’t for Burnley taking most of the underdog plaudits but they are doing a fine job of competing in the Premier League.

Their tally of 21 points at the halfway stage gives them realistic hopes of survival and much of that has been based on picking up points more often than not at home (W4 D2 L3). Indeed, defeats at the John Smith’s Stadium have only come against Spurs, Man City and Chelsea.

Against strugglers, like Stoke, Huddersfield have looked likely winners and we should take best odds on the Terriers of 17/10 with BetVictor.

The Potters now have the worst defensive record in the Premier League by a bit of distance and Mark Hughes’ job hangs by a thread. A big problem he has is that his side are expected to win fixtures like this one. There’s little reason to think they will.
