Toffees Keep Evading Sticky Patch

Everton refuse to leave the Champions League scrap and nobody has lost fewer games.

The bookies will always make Tottenham favourites (23/20 WilliamHill) to win at home to Everton but I’ll keep backing the Toffees to pick up valuable draws as they have at so many tough venues in recent years.

Roberto Martinez’s boys have been to Old Trafford and the Emirates without conceding a goal this season and recovered really impressively from their one real debacle - the 4-0 hammering by Liverpool 10 days ago. That they bounced back from a goal down to beat Villa four days later shows the resilience and spirit of this group.

Meanwhile Spurs continue to look mostly indifferent at White Hart Lane. Man City destroyed them there 5-1 last time out and they have won only three of the last 10 in front of their own long-suffering fans. The Londoners have only tasted victory twice in their last 13 league clashes with Everton.

That sequence looks set to extend on Sunday when the draw looks great value at best odds of 5/2 with Betfred.
