Time For A Quique Again

Danny Welbeck moved from Arsenal red to Watford yellow over the summer. It's a big ask for him to score his first goal over his former employer.

The Watford Board clearly felt it was coming to its senses by replacing Javi Gracia with Quique Flores after just four matches of this campaign. The last of those clashes wasn’t even that bad - an away draw at Newcastle.

But the Hornets have been in a state of decline for a few months and I’m not convinced the reinstated boss will dramatically improve fortunes, at least not quickly. We’re backing Arsenal to win this one by 1 goal at best odds of 3/1 with Skybet.

The ‘new manager’ bounce should ensure a battling display from the home side but they’ll still miss Deeney, and quite possibly Cathcart, and will struggle to contain a vibrant Arsenal frontline.

The Gunners have won 5 of their last 6 trips to Vicarage Road and claimed two clean sheets against these opponents last term. That marks Watford down as preferred opponents for Emery whose team should recreate the sort of gutsy performance which saw them win 1-0 at St James’s Park on the opening weekend.
