Tigers Fight For Survival

The odds suggest Hull are still the worst side in the league - not the case at all. They drew at Old Trafford and should compete again on their return to Manchester.

So much is made of home and away form but sometimes the fixture schedule plays a significant part in these sequences.

Take Hull City for example. Suddenly dynamic at home (W5 D1 L0) but the narrative you’ll hear is that they are still hopeless on the road.

While it’s true that away results have remained poor, let’s consider the teams they have played, starting with the most recent: Everton, Leicester, Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, WBA - that’s five teams in the top half and the resurgent champions. Tough run!

Furthermore, several of Hull’s performances in those away clashes were credible but none brought a victory. We don’t even need them to draw here, but backing them +2 goals in the handicap market at a best price of 17/10 (BetFair) makes sense.

The Tigers will undeniably have gained confidence from climbing out of the relegation zone with two triumphs this week while City have conceded at least once in 79% of their home games.

Pep’s boys really need a result too but it should be closer than many expect.
