Tide Can Turn for Seagulls

Graham Potter's team produce so many good performances and a big result is past due. Two clean sheets in a row will breed confidence while Spurs will be rocked by the injury to the talisman.

One of the strangest anomalies of the season is that Brighton are yet to win at home. I’m no fan of xG as a metric, but it does tell you something about how competitive the Seagulls have been, having outperformed their opponents, on that basis, in 9 of their 10 league games at the Amex.

Their time could come on Sunday, at best odds of 23/10 with PaddyPower if you take the price without the early payout promotion. Graham Potter’s boys won this fixture 3-0 last season, in the final days of Pochettino, but Spurs should be worried again.

Kane is out with two bad ankles, and even with the England captain, form has been patchy since mid-December. Mourinho made some odd selection decisions at the back on Thursday and mistakes proved costly. Without a solid defensive base, or Kane, top-four hopes could suffer badly in the coming weeks.
