The Walking Wounded

Palace are down to the bare bones and their entire first choice defence could be out on Saturday. Burnley are 7th in the league and 12 points better regardless.

After a recent run of saying Palace were being underrated by the odds-makers we have to acknowledge when it swings the other way. Burnley are still 12 points better off than their hosts and shouldn’t be almost evens - 5/6 with Bet365 - simply to avoid defeat at Selhurst Park.

The Clarets may be winless in 6 across all competitions but they’ve faced Spurs, Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City and drawn their other 2 games away. It’s hardly a crisis! They haven’t lost to a side outside of the top-8 since August, 20 games ago.

Palace are 14th and Roy Hodgson has horrific injury problems. The Eagles could be without their entire first choice defence on Saturday as well as key man Andros Townsend who was taken off against Brighton. Already woefully short of striker options, Hodgson can’t get reinforcements into the squad soon enough.

That’s unlikely to be in the next couple of days so Burnley could be hitting Palace at the right time. They are value in the double chance market.
