The Quest for Reds Value

Liverpool are looking insatiable in their pursuit of goals but can we capitalise on their defensive lapses.

After six league victories on the spin, it’s absolutely no surprise to see Liverpool at nothing longer than 2/11 (Betfred) to beat struggling Sunderland at Anfield on Wednesday night. But we can improve our options in a heartbeat by taking the Merseysiders to win with both teams to score at best odds of 7/4 with Stan James.

Brendan Rodgers’ boys have been so rampant and successful as of late that popular opinion is shifting. Now there are plenty of people who believe that Liverpool can win the league simply by outscoring everyone, even with a questionable defence.

And make no mistake - the defence remains dubious. Cardiff put three past the Reds on Saturday, so did Swansea recently at Anfield and Fulham scored a couple as well. These are three teams all occupying the bottom six as Sunderland do.

You can’t help thinking that Liverpool’s gung-ho approach won’t change so long as the wins keep on coming. That ought to ensure that clean sheets remain relatively rare occurrences and we can profit accordingly.
