The Portuguese Are Out In Force

Wolves may rely on their Mexican striker, Jimenez, for goals, but they now have 9 Portuguese players on their books, not to mention the boss.

Normally I would never dream of backing against a team who have just won at the Etihad when they face a slightly lesser team up next, at home. But this is Manchester United we’re talking about - seemingly a momentum-free zone!

The Red Devils have shown time and again that reading too much into a strong result is foolishness personified. After winning at the Etihad in December, they were abject in a 2-0 defeat to Watford a fortnight later.

January has seen the pattern - or lack of pattern - continue. Well beaten by Arsenal, and City, then a thumping win over Norwich, an awful home loss to Burnley, then a 6-0 win at Tranmere days later. Round and round we go.

Wolves are everything United are not, and arguably the better side. That’s why I’m taking the best price 13/5 with BetVictor on the away victory.

The Molineux club went three months unbeaten in the league from mid-September to mid-December and the recent dip is exaggerated by the misfortune of having to play Liverpool twice in the space of four weeks. They are still real contenders for top-5, at least.
