I think Chelsea will come good under Lampard but a sticky start has the capacity to get worse before it gets better with a trip to Carrow Road currently fraught with danger.
It’s hard to know what has transformed Teemu Pukki into a prolific goalscorer in his late 20s, or how long this purple patch can last, but for now the odds demand us to back a player in the form of his life.
It’s not just that the former Celtic man fired 29 Championship goals (no penalties) last term, or that he’s begun life in the top flight with a goal at Anfield and a hat-trick last weekend. For the other side of the coin is that Chelsea have made a stuttering start to their campaign and the fixtures seem to be falling at inopportune moments. Leicester found their touch in the second half last Sunday and nearly left Stamford Bridge with more than a point.
Lampard’s lot need a morale-boosting victory and until they get it they remain vulnerable to a Canaries’ outfit playing with freedom having got an early win under their belt already.
