Swansea Looking Down Fast
Swansea have regressed, they are giving up 23 shots per game and playing the sort of football that almost got them relegated.
It’s unfair to draw definitive conclusions only two games into the season but things already looked bad for Swansea. Their talisman Gylfi Sigurdsson has gone and although they’ve got good money for a player about to turn 28, there is not enough time to spend it wisely.
Paul Clement did an excellent job warding off relegation last season but his Swansea team have gone back to their bad old days. So far this season they average five shots per game and conceded 23 per game, comfortably a league high.
In terms of expected goal difference i’ve got them at -2.19 per 90min and although Crystal Palace aren’t setting the world alight, they are nowhere near as bad as this early season incarnation of the Swans.
