Swans To The Slaughter

Swansea are the worst side in the division illustrated by a chronic lack of goals since Sigurddson and Llorente departed.

In a season where it’s really difficult to pick which three sides will go down, I find myself thinking Swansea and two others.

The Welsh club are bottom having taken 1 point from a possible 21. But perhaps even worse than that, their underlying numbers suggest that they are exactly where they belong.

They rank a distant last in the Premier league for shots on target per game (1.8) and that quite simply isn’t adequate to survive. Defensively, they also rank joint third worst in terms of shots conceded per match (14.5).

West Brom aren’t much better being on a long winless run themselves but they do rank as superior on the same underlying metrics at both ends of the park. Throw in a potential new manager bounce with Pardew and a best price of 21/10 (BetVictor) on the away win looks generous here.
